Referrals
A wallet that arrives through a referral link is linked to the referrer on-chain, on its first referred trade. The link is written once and never overwritten: it cannot be reassigned, by the referrer, the trader or the protocol team.
From then on, the referrer earns a share of the fees that trader pays, for as long as they keep trading.
The rates
| Level | Share |
|---|---|
| The referrer | 10% of the fee |
| Their own referrer, if there is one | 10% of the above |
A referred trade therefore routes up to 10% of the fee into the referral chain, the second level taking a tenth of what the first takes.
$100,000 of referred volume pays $1,500 in fees, of which $150 goes to the referral chain.
Read from ReferralManager on 2026-08-13, where the pair is stored as 909 and 91 basis points of the fee — the 10% envelope, split in that ratio. They are parameters the protocol can change for trades made afterwards; a binding already written is never affected.
Who pays for it
Nobody, on top. The trader pays the same 1.5% either way, and the creator receives the same half. The referrer's share is taken out of the protocol's own.
Claiming
Referral earnings accumulate in ETH, held as WETH, and are claimed from the referrals page whenever the referrer chooses.
What the link does and does not do
It records who introduced a wallet. It does not give the referrer any control over that wallet, any view of its balances beyond what is public on-chain, or any claim on its coins.
